Banff, AB. The village was picturesque and buzzing with activity. The hostel we stayed in was the H.I. Banff Alpine Center and we recommend it to anyone travelling to Banff. We got a free upgrade to a 4 person room in a brand new building and our only roommate turned out to be the legendary flutist Iva Bujanovic. Spent the first night at the hostel bar with a live band and a lot of drunk Australians before retiring for some much needed sleep.

Upon our return from boarding at Sunshine we geared up for a night in the village, starting in our room and then on to the hostel bar. From there we hit the Devil’s Gap, a low lit sports pub where the primary entertainment was throwing food/shoes/full beers at the wire cage around the terrible drunken band. After a few drinks we moved on to the Dancing Sasquatch, one of the newer clubs in town that was recommended to us as a great local spot. After dancing our hearts out we took a quick cab back to the hostel where we were greeted by two gigantic elk grazing on the lawn. Invigorated by our elk chills we drunkenly packed for the next days adventures.
